Malaysia’s leading multi-point

strut bar manufacturer

Established in 2017, TYPE ONE has been the Malaysian manufacturer in quality chassis-strengthening bars. Its multi-point strut bars for various types of vehicles are in high demand due to its extensive research and emphasis on quality

Type One leads the charge in providing multi-point stable bars capable of enhancing a vehicle’s performance. When compared with conventional bars, Type One stable bars are superior in even distribution of stress to the chassis. Such a step ahead in design and quality is achieved by constant feedback from numerous street and track tests.

Indeed, Type One’s design philosophy revolves around one word: Stable. It is the guiding light of the design team, to enhance the stable of a vehicle with minimal adjustment to its chassis. They also worked on making sure driving dynamics and comfort are taken into careful consideration.

Safety first

TYPE ONE safety bars are easy to install with no modification to your vehicle needed. These products are designed to improve the vehicle’s handling thereby increasing the safety of the vehicle.

Car Chassis Knowledge

What is a chassis

A chassis acts as the main structure of a vehicle while all the other components are assembled to the frame.

Passengers cars

The common passenger cars cater to many needs and comfort is one of them. To provide a comfortable ride, a vehicle’s suspension and springs will be adjusted accordingly. However, such a soft setup will affect the handling of the vehicle. This include an increase in body roll in an emergency stop, and the result is more forces to the front of vehicle, prompting poor steering response, braking power and finally, increased potential for accidents.

How It Function

Technology of Strut Bars and Chassis Strengthening

A car’s chassis twists slightly as it enters a corner. The front (and the back on some occasion) suspension pillars move separately because they are only connected via the car body, which is prone to flex.

A strut brace will create a direct connection via a brace between the top of the engine and the top of the two suspension posts. The result is a more rigid front suspension setup and little to no movement relative to each side.

If you are a keen driver, you will be able to get far better handling out of your car by fitting a few accessories to it. The first thing you should look at is a strut braceHowever a lower suspension should be your first priority if you're serious about improving your car’s handling performance. For the majority of drivers, this will be more sufficient.

Does the vehicle chassis strengthened is needed?

A car chassis takes the most abuse during a drive. Fast cornering, sudden braking and acceleration are the common examples of strain the chassis while driving.

In some cases, the weight transfer when cornering may cause one side of vehicle to experience the force more than other side of vehicle. This situation will affect chassis flex or body of vehicle deformity and twisted, hence also causing tires to lose grip.

The understeering and oversteering occur during cornering affected from deformity and twisting of vehicle chassis.

Tested for Reliability

The products are created in line with our design and development philosophy and are subject to a high standard of industry-leading tests. Beyond road and track performance monitoring, the strut bars also are put through the Bending, Torsion and Flex tests.

For the Bending Test, both sides of the bar are placed under pressure and the amount of force recorded. The test is vital for us to understand how the bar will act under various driving conditions. This includes utilising a hydraulic pump to compress the bars as a way to simulate an accident.

To test torsion, a strut bar is bolted to a special harness to simulate an actual vehicle chassis. Torque is then applied to one side of the bar and the amount of twist is recorded.

In a Flex Test, a strut bar is also bolted to a modified jig. Torque is gradually applied on the ends of the bar during the test. The purpose is to simulate the performance of the strut bar when it is under chassis flex conditions.

Material & Design

TYPE ONE products are made from materials that can withstand all conditions. They are constantly monitored during the production stage and are put through performance testing once the bars are off the production line.

The strut bars are designed to absorb the impact and minimise potential damage to the chassis in the event of a collision. It provides both a solid handling and a shield for the passengers in any untoward incident.

Materials are carefully selected in the construction of the strut bars. The hollow steel and oval tubes are 1.4mm to 1.6mm thick, making the handling of the vehicle seamless. Moreover, impact can be absorbed without causing damage to the opposite side in a collision.

Brackets are created with 4.5mm above steel plates so that it would have a strong holding power. That translates to a more solid and responsive handling of the vehicle.
